The region of

Valparaíso

, in Chile, is currently experiencing a tragedy after the forest fires that are breaking out in the region and that, for the moment, left 122 fatalities.

Soccer player

Pedro Sánchez

, Ñublense forward, decided to travel to

Viña del Mar

to be close to his family, more precisely to the

Miraflores

area , and ended up in the hospital.

“The truth is that I was in Santiago for preseason with Ñublense and when everything started I only saw on television that Miraflores was burning.

Nobody in my family answered my messages, they had no signal.

"I was very distressed at not being able to communicate with my people,"

said Sánchez, who did not hesitate to go to the region to help his people escape the fire.

Once there, Sánchez devoted himself to community help by rescuing abandoned animals and ended up suffering a wound to one of his cheekbones, for which he had to be transferred to a medical center.

The 25-year-old forward had to undergo surgery and is now recovering from the injuries suffered.
