Siena municipal authorities on Monday raised the alarm over the increasingly frequent sighting of wolves on the outskirts of the Tuscan city.
In an email Mayor Nicoletta Fabio and Environment CouncillorBarbara Magi alerted the provincial and regional authorities and to the Higher Institute for Environmental Protection andResearch (ISPRA) "to the increasingly frequent presence of thewildlife in the suburbs of Siena".
"In consideration of the understandable concern of citizens for their own safety, we ask, within the scope of their respective competences on the subject of wildlife management, that they provide this administration with indications and the necessary support to deal with the problem in the best possible way and provide concrete answers to citizens to safeguard public safety," they said.
