Will there now be a reconciliation in the recently quarreling royal family?
London - Following the shocking news of King Charles III's cancer diagnosis.

His son Prince Harry (39) traveled to Great Britain to be at his father's side.

The palace surprisingly announced on Monday evening that King Charles was suffering from cancer.

The king's younger son and his wife Duchess Meghan (42) broke away from the inner circle of the royal family four years ago.
They now live in the US state of California with their two children, Prince Archie (4) and Princess Lilibet (2).
What is known about diagnosis
The palace announced on Monday evening that Charles was being treated for cancer.
The disease was discovered when he was in hospital for prostate surgery.
The royal family did not say what form of cancer Charles has.
All that is known is that it is not prostate cancer.
On medical advice, the king is refraining from public appointments for the time being, according to a statement from Buckingham Palace.
But he should continue the affairs of state.
Charles is to be treated as an outpatient.
Charles' reign began with the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth II in September 2022.
In May 2023, Charles was crowned.
According to the palace, Charles is confident about his treatment and looks forward to “returning fully to his public duties as soon as possible.”

Wishes for recovery from several countries
Meanwhile, numerous personalities from home and abroad wished the king a speedy recovery.
The news shocked and saddened him like everyone else, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak told the BBC.
“And all our thoughts are with him and his family.
Luckily it was recognized early.” Everyone now wishes the king that he receives the necessary treatment and makes a full recovery.
Asked what Charles' diagnosis means for day-to-day government work, Sunak replied: "I am in regular contact with the King.
And of course that will continue as normal.” As British head of state, Charles receives the Prime Minister once a week for an audience.
According to reports, nothing will change in this regard for the time being.

Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier wrote: “Personally and on behalf of my compatriots, I wish you a speedy and complete recovery with all my heart.” He learned of the illness with great regret.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said on the X platform (formerly Twitter) that his thoughts were with the monarch.
“We send him our best wishes - and hope for a quick and full recovery.” Charles is also head of state in Canada.
US President Joe Biden, whose son Beau died of cancer, also expressed his condolences.
Dealing with a cancer diagnosis as well as treatment and life afterwards require hope and absolute courage, Biden wrote on Platform X. His wife Jill and he would pray that Charles would get well again quickly.
Charles is not the only one among the royals who is sick
The British royals are currently facing several bad news.
The wife of heir to the throne Prince William, Princess Kate (42), has to take a long break after an abdominal operation.
The ex-wife of Charles' brother Prince Andrew, Sarah "Fergie" Ferguson (64), now suffers from skin cancer after a breast cancer diagnosis.

Unlike Charles' daughter-in-law Kate, whose diagnosis remained private, the royal family provided more information about the king's illness.
“His Majesty has chosen to share his diagnosis to avoid speculation,” the statement said.
He also hopes to promote understanding for other people with cancer.

Charles' older son William (41) had taken a step back because of his wife's operation and had taken more care of the family.
Shortly before Charles' cancer was announced, it was announced that William would now appear in public again after his break.
This Wednesday he is scheduled to host a ceremony at Windsor Castle and take part in a fundraising gala.
