In Moorenweis everyone is looking forward to the carnival parade on Sunday - because the Gaudiwurm only rolls every few years, the anticipation is particularly great.

Moorenweis - The wagon builders put a lot of thought into it and worked for a long time - one group is creating a monument to the humorist Loriot with a large bathtub.

Can the duck go into the water or not?

The legendary argument between the “gentlemen in the bathroom” is one of the most famous sketches by the mocker Loriot.

And because he would have recently turned 100 years old, he will be celebrated with his own car at the Moorenweise carnival parade next Sunday (February 11th).

“I really like Loriot,” says Alexandra Zimmermann as she completes the picture of a yellow rubber duck with precise brush strokes.

Meanwhile, Michael Wenhart and Markus Blechinger lift a replica tub with painted blue tiles onto the carnival float.

If it's not too cold on Sunday, they will sit down for the parade with their upper bodies naked - like "Doktor Klöbner" and "Mr Müller-Lüdenscheid" from the famous comic sketch.

Around 50 cars and foot groups were there

In the group of friends of around twelve people, some of whom had known each other from kindergarten, several possible topics were discussed and ultimately voted on democratically.

Loriot won.

Alexandra Zimmermann is convinced that the float will be well received at the carnival parade.

Her children, who were born in the 1990s and 2000s, were not familiar with the humorist, “but 80 percent of the viewers are older and they all know Loriot.”

Topics also include Disney and football

Around 50 cars and foot groups have registered for the Gaudiwurm organized by TSV Moorenweis.

The topics are mixed, as organizer Christoph Knoller reveals.

“100 Years of Disney”, football and the animated series “Sponge Bob” are celebrated.

You can also be excited about “Celebrities in Jail”.

And you don't have to be a prophet to calculate that the traffic light government will also be targeted by one group or another.

The same applies to the still young Rüsselfreunde Moorenweis club.

The now 50 members came together to eat boiled meat together.

“From October to March we meet once a month in the Geltendorf sports center,” says chairman Tobias Bingißer.

Only regional meat is served there.

You also pay attention to “complete use of leftovers” from the pig, because the pork consists largely of offal.

As a charitable cause, the Rüsselfreunde have taken up the cause of preserving Bavarian culture.

After the club was founded, the number of members increased quickly.

And with their first carnival float, the group's popularity is likely to increase further - not least because the vehicle will stand out from the caravan of tractors and trailers.

Counter bike converted into a pig

The trunk friends bought a beer bike - also called a counter bike - and personalized it with pink paint and a pig's trunk.

Ten people sit on bicycle saddles and pedal while one person at the front steers.

This will be Bingiesser.

Those behind have the advantage “that they can rattle while they pedal,” says the chairman and laughs.

The date and the route

The Moorenweiser carnival parade starts on Sunday at 2 p.m. (line-up from 1 p.m.).

The route runs from the confluence of Pfalzstrasse and Römerstrasse via the former Gasthof Schamberger to the Dellinger intersection and further over Ammerseestrasse and Eismerszellerstrasse to Lindenstrasse.

Before the Gaudiwurm sets off, there is a supporting program with guard performances and musical interludes.

Spectators can fortify themselves with sausages, donuts and drinks, which are offered in stalls on the side of the road.

After the parade, the celebrations continue in the TSV hall and in the party tent.
