A lifelong poker fan and holder of a WSOP (World Series of Poker) world champion bracelet in 1998, Patrick Bruel distinguished himself again last month in Las Vegas.
During an invitational World Poker Tour tournament reserved for celebrities, the singer and actor faced several other personalities including actresses Arden Cho (
Teen Wolf, Hawaii 5.0
) and Eileen Davidson (
The Bold and the Beautiful
), the business manager Adam Weitsman, contemporary sculptor Daniel Arsham and actor Neil Patrick Harris, who became famous thanks to his role as Barney Stinson in the series How I met your mother.

During the game played at the Wynn casino, the two men regularly found themselves face to face in fierce battles.
But one of these hands proved particularly improbable.
When Patrick Bruel raised $4,200 with Ace-Queen, Neil Patrick Harris bet all those chips ($9,900)!
An all-in immediately covered by Patrick Bruel, stunned to discover that his opponent has an Ace and a 4, a hand infinitely less powerful than his own.
The two men then relaxed a little at the table.
Patrick Bruel and other players joke about Neil Patrick Harris' reckless bet with a relatively weak hand.
When the dealer revealed the first three cards of the flop - King, 8 and 3 - the American actor only had a 13% chance of victory.
Neil Patrick Harris then begged the dealer, saying “
Come on 4, come on 4!”
» (“
Go the 4, Go the 4!
”), triggering a burst of laughter from Patrick Bruel.
The miracle then occurred on the “turn” when the dealer displayed a 4 giving the actor an unexpected lead.
Patrick Bruel smiled while hoping that a club would come out on the fifth card, thus giving him a winning flush.
But destiny had chosen its side and another 4 appeared, giving a trip as improbable as it was lucky to Neil Patrick Harris who let out a huge “phew” of relief.
A few hands later, the American comedian was definitively eliminated by actress Arden Cho.
For his part, Patrick Bruel had a good game as he reached the final, finally finishing second behind entrepreneur Adam Weitsman, victorious in the tournament.
There is no doubt that it is only a postponement for the man who popularized poker in France.
