One person was arrested and placed under house arrest by the Carabinieri and four others are under investigation as part of an investigation conducted by the DDA of Reggio Calabria into a criminal organization that allegedly managed illicit waste trafficking.
According to what emerged from the investigation, the organization would have illegally dumped over five thousand tons of special waste into the Valanidi stream, one of the waterways that cross Reggio Calabria.
