Many carnival costumes come with a matching toy weapon.
A daycare notice that is supposed to ban this is now sparking excitement and poisonous comments.
Kassel – For many people, the fun ends when it comes to dressing up.
This is shown once again by a debate on Reddit that was sparked by a note in a daycare center.
This is apparently intended to ban weapons at carnival celebrations.
It is not clear where exactly the notice comes from.
Users outraged by daycare notice: Weapons for disguises should be banned
The text on the notice reads: “Dear parents, please remember that any game with weapons is prohibited in kindergarten.” Below there are small pictures of swords, a pistol, a saber and a rifle, all with a red one lines are crossed out.
The Star Wars enthusiasts among the users in particular take the notice with humor.
“The most important question is whether lightsabers are banned or whether they are okay,” one commented, receiving numerous upvotes.
Another reported that his son asked him if he could wear his Darth Vader costume since “the force” could also be viewed as a weapon.
Some Reddit users seem particularly spurred on by the sign.
“According to the sign, self-propelled howitzers are not prohibited,” one person noted.
After all, this only serves self-defense, adds another.
Ban notice hits the nerve of some Reddit users
Apparently some users feel seriously provoked by the sign.
“Now pens must be banned in school,” one concludes, “and books too – you can get hit with that.
And then fists too?” This could lead to problems with some disguises.
“Mine goes as Son Goku and just gives out punches to everyone,” commented another.
