Last week, Yair Netanyahu filed a lawsuit against journalist Yair Levy, after he was sued by Haaretz journalist Yossi Klein for NIS 314,000.

In his lawsuit, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's son is asking for indemnification, which means that the money that Netanyahu will have to pay will be demanded back from Yair Levy.

Netanyahu Jr. submitted his claim to the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court after last December he was sued together with the Likud by Yossi Klein.

The grounds for the defamation lawsuit were for resharing the tweet of the journalist Levy in which it was claimed that Klein wrote in Toro in the newspaper that the protesters against the legal revolution in the demonstration in front of the Knesset in February returned home "with a hard feeling because no blood was spilled", while in Toro it was written: "The demonstrators went home with a hard feeling, but also In a kind of relief. No blood was spilled."

Netanyahu rejects the claim that he retweeted the tweet against Klein.

"The defendant did not publish or retweet the tweet against Klein to the best of his knowledge, and the indictment does not present a single piece of evidence, not even a hint that Netanyahu tweeted the said tweet in any way," it was claimed.

"To prove that a person re-tweeted a post, the re-tweet must be shown on the home page, and not a list of re-tweets that appears with every re-publication of each tweet. The statement of claim does not show a re-tweet from the defendant's page at all. If the defendant had re-tweeted - the tweet would have appeared on the page of The defendant on Twitter, while looking at the defendant's Twitter page it can be seen that there is no such publication at all by the defendant."

Netanyahu and Levy were friendly and even maintained a kind of continuous friendship through personal messages until the events of October 7, when Levy began writing against his father, Prime Minister Netanyahu.

No response was given on behalf of attorney Uriel Hor Nizri who represents Yair Netanyahu.
