The number of marriages in Bavaria fell significantly last year 2023.
The schnapps paydays were particularly popular.
Fürth - The willingness to get married in Bavaria has decreased, at least in the first ten months of last year.
The State Statistical Office recorded a total of 52,607 weddings from January to October 2023.
This represents a significant decrease: In the same period of 2022, 3,849 more weddings were counted, as the authority in Fürth announced on Friday, February 9th.

Compared to previous years, 2023 was apparently not a particularly good year for weddings: According to the state office, the number of registered marriages in the first ten months was almost five percent below the median from 2018 to 2021. The median represents the middle value of a series of numbers in which half of the values are above or below.
Bavaria's people will get married less in 2023 than in previous years: liquor pay days are popular
The preferred wedding days in 2023 were so-called booze paydays: June 23, 2023 topped the list with 1,026 weddings, followed by September 9, when 993 couples tied the knot.
In third place was May 5th with 937 marriages.
Valentine's Day, on the other hand, was not a popular day for getting married: only 105 marriages were registered on February 14, 2023.
