After the UCR demanded that the members of the bicameral commission that deals with the DNU in Congress be appointed "urgently", the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Martín Menem, came to the crossroads and accused radicalism of having been " for a long time without opening my mouth."
"It strikes me that there is so much talk about the bicameral when they have not opened their mouths for so long. Alberto Fernández's decrees have not yet passed there," Menem noted during an interview with radio Miter.
The response from the leader of La Libertad Avanza came after the leaders of the centenary party sent a letter to the parliamentary president to begin dealing with Javier Milei's MegaDNU, after the Omnibus Law was frustrated.
"That commission was not functioning for a long time. In Argentina they have a certain selective memory and from time to time they remember things that they had forgotten," Menem stated.
In the letter, the radicals warned that "if the dilatory attitude persists" they will act with "all the legal tools" they have at their disposal to comply with the mandate of the Constitution.
For the legislative treatment of Milei's DNU on economic deregulation issued last December, the bicameral commission that has not yet been defined must be confirmed.
In accordance with Law 26,122, the bicameral commission is made up of eight deputies and eight senators, appointed by the president of their respective Chambers at the proposal of the parliamentary blocs, respecting the proportion of political representations.
