(see related story) A protestor in Naples on Tuesday denounced the "violent, disproportionate and unexpected reaction" from police to demonstrators protesting outside the local Rai headquarters against the public service broadcaster's coverage of the humanitarian situation in Gaza as a consequence of the Israel-Hamas war.
"We were the victims of a violent, disproportionate and unexpected reaction, hit with batons simply for trying to put up a banner at the RAI gates," Mimi' Ercolano told ANSA after a photo showing her face covered in blood circulated on the web.
"Fortunately I am fine," added the Si Cobas trade unionist.
