“This is completely unacceptable.
This PLU is a threat to private schools,” says Geoffroy Boulard.
The mayor of the 17th arrondissement of Paris launched a petition with three elected officials from the Changer Paris opposition group demanding “the
removal of reserved spaces on the grounds of educational establishments in the draft local urban planning plan (PLU) of the City of Paris”.
Concretely, 1,500 locations, including seven private Catholic schools, have been designated by the City as “areas reserved for the development of specific housing, in particular social housing (LS) or real solidarity lease housing (BRS)” .
In other words, in the event of a construction project, significant renovation or even expansion and elevation, the owners of these establishments will have to allocate a part of their surface area (between 30 and 100%) to HLM.
