Alexei Navalny, incarcerated in a penal colony, died in prison, Russian agencies announced this Friday.
Alexeï Navalny, 47 years old and number one enemy of the Russian president, was serving a 19-year prison sentence for “extremism”.
He was arrested in January 2021 upon his return from Russia from convalescence in Germany for a poisoning which he blames on the Kremlin and has since alternated stays in solitary confinement with more or less strict conditions of detention.
