Rhône: a man films himself killing his ex-partner and attempts suicide

A 26-year-old man was arrested in Vénissieux, in the Rhône, and taken to hospital in serious condition this Saturday morning.

He is suspected of having attempted suicide after killing his 24-year-old ex-partner,

At 6:20 a.m. this Saturday morning, police were called by a man claiming to have received an alarming video from his 26-year-old brother.

In the images, the young man is in a car with his ex-partner and shoots her with a gun.

A ball in the head

The police quickly managed to locate the car in which the events took place and discovered the lifeless body of a young 24-year-old woman, with a bullet hole and identified as the former girlfriend of the suspect with whom he had kept links, the Lyon prosecutor's office tells us.

Next to her is the young man, seriously injured and unconscious, with a gun in his hand.

He

“shot himself three times, including one in the head, his vital prognosis is very serious”

, underlines the prosecution which opened an investigation for

“assassination”

entrusted to the Lyon judicial police.
