One more episode in the tormented relationship between the presidential party Renaissance and its ally Horizons (the supporters of Édouard Philippe).
Thursday, Le Figaro
revealed the departure of deputies Pierre Henriet and Bertrand Bouyx from the majority group in the Assembly to that of Édouard Philippe.
Officially, for local reasons linked to their constituencies.
This did not prevent the anger of Sylvain Maillard (president of the Renaissance deputies) who decided to take this weekend to the next step in the scale of retaliatory measures.
Thus, Maillard advised on Saturday that “the offices of the two deputies will be recovered” without further delay, from this Monday, February 19, like their places in the hemicycle.
The reason ?
Bouyx and Henriet, despite their departure, refused to give up the parliamentary positions and functions to which they were attached within the group.
“Bad manners, a breach of the rules of life within the majority,” he rages to our newspaper, also announcing that he is suspending his participation in the weekly meeting of group leaders of the majority (Renaissance, MoDem and Horizon) organized every Monday afternoon.
