The Verdi union is demanding 12.5 percent more pay for employees

What the union is demanding for the employees is an increase in pay by 12.5 percent, but at least 555 euros per month.

Verdi demands that there should be 232 euros more money per month for the trainees.

The first round of negotiations on December 6, 2023 was unsuccessful.

“The sharp price increases for food and energy are putting a strain on the wallet,” says negotiator Özge Aygün from Verdi.

The goal is to sustainably compensate for the loss of purchasing power in order to permanently counteract inflation.

“The employer’s behavior is no longer acceptable,” says Linda Dubiel from the Verdi regional district of Bavaria.

The employees' dissatisfaction will inevitably lead to warning strikes.

There will be a strike rally on February 19th from 10:30 a.m. in Nuremberg in front of the union hall on the Kornmarkt.

At the same time, the second round of negotiations is taking place in Bochum.
