The former accountant general, Prof. Yaron Zelicha, filed a lawsuit against a company that previously owned 25% of Arkia's shares in the amount of half a million shekels - according to a lawsuit letter he submitted today (Sunday) to the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court.
Zelicha, served for 11 years in the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tut Company (TUT) - Aviation and Tourism Workers' Corporations Ltd. whose purpose is to hold shares in Arkia for Arkia employees.
In 2023, Zelicha finished his position at the company and therefore claims that he deserves the amount he claimed, and this is what Zelicha wrote in the lawsuit: "In October 2023, the defendant's board of directors decided to terminate the plaintiff's term immediately. The defendant admitted in practice that the plaintiff is entitled to early notice fees, but in the amount of 50,000 Shekels only, an amount lower than what he actually deserves."
"The defendant admitted that the plaintiff is entitled to an advance notice fee of NIS 50,000. Prof. Yaron Zelicha/Reuven Castro
According to him, "In addition, the defendant intends to recognize the claimant's entitlement to the sum of NIS 320,000 as stated above.
The plaintiff did not agree to waive his rights.
The defendant violated her obligations according to the law and the agreement, according to which she must pay the plaintiff the amounts due to him.
"For this violation, the plaintiff is entitled to financial compensation in the amount of half a million shekels plus interest and legal attachment," Zelikha wrote.
