Highlights: In Paris, we eat seafood in sauce right on the tablecloth, a concept from the United States. Spiced seafood eaten with an apron and gloves has tens of thousands of views on social media. The idea is to compose your combo by choosing the seafood, the sauce (Cajun, garlic, or pepper and mustard) and the level of chili. Everything comes in a plastic bag specially designed for this type of food and is placed on the paper tablecloth. The concept comes from the U.S. and the founders imported it to Europe.

“It’s a defeat…” Eyes wide, Tessy can’t believe it.

This 24-year-old real estate agent has not finished his meal, the last relics of which are lying on the paper tablecloth.

Captured on Instagram by this new concept that appeared last December in the capital, Tessy and her partner Laureen, 25, decided that evening to test the seafood with Cajun spices from Wowcrab (9th), one of the two Parisian brands presenting this new type of restaurant.

“The concept comes from the United States and the founders imported it to Europe,” explains Antoine Lam, the manager.

The chain's first restaurants opened in the Netherlands, then in Madrid and it is therefore the first to arrive in Paris.

The idea is to compose your combo by choosing the seafood, which arrives from Norway and Finland every two to three days, the sauce (Cajun, garlic, or pepper and mustard) and the level of chili.

Everything comes in a plastic bag specially designed for this type of food and is placed on the tablecloth.

We're going back to basics!
