"The Zero accelerator was created to develop business proposals within cleantechnologies. We did this by supporting startups in their entrepreneurial development path, but also by giving them skills to report their value in the environmental and social aspects".
This was stated by the head of Joule, Eni's school for business, Mattia Voltaggio, on the sidelines of the "DemoDay: 3 years of Impact Innovation" event.
"We have trained these young entrepreneurs to also account for the effects on the positive externality side, both in environmental terms and in terms of social impact", underlines Voltaggio.
Eni Joule with Elis and the startup Open Impact has developed a model for measuring the impact generated by the innovative solutions of startups starting from the "Methodology for assessing the impact of circularity and social impact" developed by Ergo, a spin-off company of the Scuola Superiore Sant 'Anna of Pisa.
This framework has made it possible to identify over 152 environmental, social and economic indicators on which the startups have generated impact and to calculate the social return on investment (Sroi).
The average value for the 11 startups accelerated by the third edition of Zero is equal to 4.16, a social impact of more than four times the value of the investment.
