Over 200 farmers from the entire district came together on Tuesday for Rural Women's Day in the Grafinger town hall.

There, a speaker discussed an important aspect of everyday life.

Grafing – Around 200 farmers from the Ebersberg district received a lot of praise and gratitude at the Rural Women’s Day in the Grafing town hall.

Right at the beginning, district farmer Barbara Kronester and district chairman Matthias Vodermeier praised the outstanding organization and smooth running of the numerous farmers' protests and bonfires in the past few weeks.

District Administrator Robert Niedergesäß later agreed with this.

“You stand for unity,” he said.

“You are demonstrating strength.” The importance of the Bavarian Farmers’ Association’s unified appearance is not only evident in protests at the federal level.

Even in the Ebersberg district, Niedergesäß emphasized with a raised index finger, farmers were always rightly drawing attention to themselves.

Whether it's the controversial planning of the Brenner north feeder in the southern district or the number of bureaucratic hurdles in agriculture.

“We are proud of our farmers,” he said to applause.

“It’s important that we also say how it can’t be done.” According to district farmer Kronester, the women have done enough of that in the last few months.

Now is the time to simply let go of the stress surrounding political decisions, work on the farm or hectic family life.

“Everyone has their own burden to bear, but today we should just think about ourselves,” explained Kronester.

Too much stress can be dangerous: women farmers should pay more attention to themselves

The focus of Rural Women’s Day was therefore the lecture “Before I fall by the wayside – draw strength from deep sources” by the former religious teacher and clinical chaplain Josef Epp.

The Allgäu resident impressively explained to his attentive audience how important it is for health to draw on the full strength reserves of your body - but not to forget to also take care of yourself.

“I know there is a saying in agriculture that it's all right.

But it is usually brought when the battery is almost empty,” emphasized Epp.

“But if you go beyond your battery level, then it becomes dangerous.” Too much stress, especially for too long, can lead to serious health problems.

From depression to cardiovascular diseases: “That’s where we’re heading if we don’t treat ourselves carefully,” the speaker warned emphatically.

Self-love, relationships, friends: speaker gives farmers' wives advice on how to combat stress in everyday life

The fact that farmers in this country are working in their homes and farms almost around the clock doesn't necessarily make things any easier - but it doesn't make it impossible either.

“An ecology of life also includes protecting one’s own soul,” said Epp.

A thoughtful murmur went around the hall, many nodded in agreement, and some tears rolled down their cheeks.

It almost seemed as if many farmers' women only realized how much they had exhausted themselves in the past at Rural Women's Day.

Reason enough for Josef Epp to give women a few tips for everyday life.

Based on the story of creation, he made it clear that self-love and interpersonal relationships with family and friends are the core sources for “recharging your batteries”.

For many farmers, the advice came at just the right time: “I really liked that,” said Maria Obermaier from Pörsdorf.

Farmers' association presents supportive offers for farmers

Afterwards, the farmers' association and the Ebersberg machine and business support group presented the concept of the Monday telephone and the everyday helpers.

The offers are intended to support disabled and sick people on farms and their families.
