Normally, the British Royal Family generally does not comment on political issues.
However, due to the devastating situation in Gaza, Prince William now made an exception.

The current heir to the throne, Prince William (41), is undoubtedly aware of this rule.
Nevertheless, the Prince of Wales surprisingly decided to make a statement about the current situation in the Gaza Strip.
Prince William fears a humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip
In it he called for an immediate end to the fighting and an increase in humanitarian aid.

On Tuesday (February 20), Prince William stunned fans of the British royal family and royalty experts alike when he broke with royal tradition and surprisingly released a statement about the current situation in the Middle East.
In it, the father of three said: “I remain deeply concerned about the terrible human losses of the conflict in the Middle East since the terrorist Hamas attack on October 7th.
Too many were killed.
Like so many others, I would like the fighting to end as quickly as possible.
Increased humanitarian support for Gaza is urgently needed.
It is urgent that help comes and the hostages are freed.”
The Israeli government reacts cautiously to the British prince's demands
Of the approximately 250 people who were abducted by Hamas on October 7, 134 are currently believed to be still being held captive in the Gaza Strip.
In response to Prince William's statement, an Israeli government spokesman said that the release of the hostages was one of the foundations for the ceasefire call.
“Israelis, of course, also want to see an end to the fighting,” said a statement, according to GB News.
