Their foundations are often at odds with medical knowledge.
Evidence of their effectiveness: often tenuous, or even non-existent.
There is no precise data on the frequency of use of
“alternative”
medicine in France, but a recent survey shows that 7 out of 10 people have already tried one of these practices (osteopathy in the lead).
Most of them are people suffering from cancer, according to Miviludes (Interministerial Mission to Combat Sectarian Abuses).
Figures which demonstrate a certain enthusiasm.
