After the latest wave of warning strikes by ground staff, Lufthansa has submitted a new offer.
However, no agreement was reached on Thursday after two days of negotiations in Frankfurt, as Lufthansa reported.
It remains unclear whether the more than 20,000 employees will be called upon to take industrial action again.
Frankfurt/Main - “We have once again taken a big step towards Verdi and presented a new, even improved offer,” explained Human Resources Director Michael Niggemann, according to the announcement.
In detail, the first of two table increases of 4 percent was brought forward from December 2024 to March this year.
In addition, the inflation compensation bonus of 3,000 euros should now be paid out more quickly.
If the term is increased by 3 to 28 months, there will be 10 percent higher salaries in addition to other benefits.
Verdi had demanded 12.5 percent more money and the inflation compensation bonus for a term of twelve months.
Initially there was no reaction from the union after the end of the negotiations.
In the previous rounds, the negotiators had always reassured themselves through so-called collective bargaining ambassadors in the workforce.
So far there have been two waves of warning strikes in the collective bargaining dispute, each lasting just over a day.
Hundreds of flights were canceled in both waves.
In Berlin, the parallel talks between Verdi and the aviation security companies continued as planned on Thursday.
This is about the salaries and working conditions of around 25,000 employees who check passengers and luggage at the airports.
