An investigation was opened Thursday by the Lyon public prosecutor's office after the attack on the premises of Espace Group (owner in particular of the local media Radio Espace and Lyon Mag) of its CEO, Christophe Mahé.
According to a police source confirming information from the local daily
Le Progrès
, the victim was hit on the ground several times in the underground parking lot of the group's building, located in the Confluence district of Lyon (2nd arrondissement), while he was had just been taken out of his vehicle with tear gas.
The perpetrator of this attack was visibly aiming for the bag containing money that he took with him in his escape.
A large police force was deployed on site after this attack.
