Le Figaro Nice
On the night of February 6 to 7, a 20-year-old young man was allegedly raped in Nice, on Boulevard de Montréal, to the west of the city.
According to him, the events occurred in a Tesla, inside which its driver, who presented himself as an Uber driver, sequestered him before abusing him.
After which, the victim went to file a complaint, leading to the opening of an investigation by the Nice public prosecutor's office.
Investigation entrusted to the criminal brigade of the Alpes-Maritimes Departmental Security.
Eight days later, on February 15, the owner of the electric vehicle was found and taken into police custody, as
Le Figaro
learned from the prosecutor's office, confirming information from
Nice Matin
.
A confrontation took place between the two men, with the complainant formally recognizing his attacker.
However, he is not a VTC driver.
During their respective hearings, both gave contradictory versions of the facts.
The investigators were also unable to disentangle fact from fiction since the suspect, whose police custody was initially extended, was finally released, while more detailed checks were undertaken.
“Investigations are continuing as part of a preliminary investigation
,” the prosecution said.

Criminal record
If there is no question of questioning the words of the person who presents himself as a victim, his profile would be likely to question the police.
And for good reason, the young man would have a criminal record as long as his arm.
This is not the case for the owner of the Tesla who, until now, had never had to deal with the law.
In any case, he must remain available to investigators until the investigations become clearer.
