The collapse of an illegal mine in the State of Bolívar that occurred this Wednesday has left at least 15 dead and 11 injured.

According to local media, the deposit had begun to be exploited six months ago and the collapse occurred in an area with a depth of about 35 meters.

Illegal mining is common in this area, as are accidents linked to said activity.

In 2023, another of these excavations collapsed, leaving 12 dead.

Throughout this Thursday, some of the burials of the bodies rescued from the site where the collapse occurred were carried out.
