The Liedertafel Taufkirchen took stock of the past year at its annual general meeting.

The association has 123 members.

The desire for concert trips and smaller events became loud.

Hubenstein – Not every annual general meeting begins like this: The meeting began in the Pauli Bekehr parish church with an annual memorial service, musically provided by the Liedertafel and the soloists Andrea Rable and Christine Fürmetz under the direction of Christian Rott.

The performances included Verdi's “Little Requiem” and Andrew Lloyd Webber's “Pie Jesu”.

Afterwards, 40 members met at the Häring inn in Hubenstein.

Treasurer Heidi Böhm informed that there are currently 65 active and 58 supporting members.

The club year ended well financially.

The position of passive representative was filled with Manfred Schreff.

Some members were honored for their long-standing loyalty to the club.

The active singers were Ulla Schreff (10 years old), Hermine Geiselbrechtinger, Marille Stummer and Doris Treffler-Alscher (20), Ursula Friedrich (30) and Therese Zieringer (65).

Georg Braun (30) as well as Angelika Bachmayer, Ludwig Keilhacker and Georg Rosenberger (50) were honored among the supporting members.

The presentation about the past year prepared by secretary Gerhard Helminger was entertaining.

Chairwoman Martina Wimmer used the last pictures from Advent at the castle to thank everyone for their active help in this major event, which the Liedertafel is organizing together with the BSG.

She hopes that there will be enough volunteers again this year.

A helpers' dinner will be organized, Wimmer revealed.

Those present thought it was a very good idea.

The chairwoman gave an outlook and mentioned upcoming events such as the candlelight hike, the May devotion, the autumn concert and the two-day trip to Hall in Tirol in June with a visit to the silver mine in Schwaz.

Ulla Schreff briefly presented the program.

It was important to her that on larger visits there were alternatives for members with limited mobility to enable them to take part in the excursion.

Wimmer informed that new scarves for the women and ties for the men had been purchased and that new concert folders were to be obtained.

Due to the desire to attend concerts that has been expressed several times, Ulla Schreff would like to organize a bus for the Wies concert in Steingaden.

And Lydia Bitzer suggested offering more smaller events again.

Only the good “visibility” of the association makes it possible to attract new members.

The rehearsals will not begin until March, explained choir director Rott, in order to give more thought to where and what an autumn concert could look like this year.

He thanked everyone for organizing the service.

There was great applause for him from the gathering as a thank you for his great commitment.
