The governors of Together for Change issued a strong statement of support to the governor of Chubut, Nacho Torres, in his fight with the government of Javier Milei after the decision of the national government to cut off the sending of funds for 13.5 billion pesos of co-participation. without any reason.
"The governors of Together for Change express their full support and support for the governor of Chubut Ignacio Torres in this difficult moment that the people of Chubut are going through. The National Government must comply with the Constitution and urgently send the shared resources that belong to it the province," they noted.
The statement is signed by Jorge Macri (CABA), Leandro Zdero (Chaco), Gustavo Valdés (Corrientes), Rogelio Frigerio (Entre Ríos), Carlos Sadir (Jujuy), Alfredo Cornejo (Mendoza), Marcelo Orrego (San Juan), Claudio Poggi (San Luis), and Maximiliano Pullaro (Santa Fe).
"Not complying with the law and the agreements between the Nation and provinces does not affect the governors but the 50 million Argentines who live in the 24 jurisdictions of the country," the governors stated.
The support of the JxC governors is in response to Chubut's complaint against the national government for the removal of 13.5 billion pesos from the province's co-participation.
"We are not crazy, we are going to continue defending the rights of the people of Chubut. It does not matter who is in La Rosada, if it is more of a friend, if it is an ally, if it is not an ally. "In response to the statement issued by the Governor of Chubut, the Office of the President informs that the $13.5 billion discount to which it refers corresponds to a debt that the province of Chubut maintains with the Trust Fund for Provincial Development. By regulations of issuance of said debt, its collection is made by direct discount of the Co-participation".
