To Chamonix
In a storage room at the École Militaire de Haute Montagne (EMHM) in Chamonix, eight pulkas were carefully stored.
They are waiting to be transported in the coming days by military plane to Greenland.
In these sleds used to transport food and equipment on the snow, there is everything necessary for a three-week expedition in complete autonomy, in an environment where temperatures will not exceed -20°C.
For this survival kit in an extreme environment, each element has been carefully thought out: 200 milliliters of gasoline per man per day for heating, portions of 3,400 calories for food and four pairs of gloves, to brave the cold and deal with hazards.
“But, at these temperatures, the key point remains the down,”
