The nationwide wave of warning strikes in local public transport is expected to reach Hesse on Friday.

Then, according to the wishes of the Verdi union, buses, subways and S-Bahn trains will remain in depot in several cities.

Frankfurt/Kassel - There is a risk of warning strikes on local public transport in Hesse at the end of the week.

“The subways and trams in Kassel and Frankfurt as well as bus transport in Wiesbaden will mainly be affected,” said a spokeswoman for the Verdi union in Frankfurt on Monday evening.

Local public transport employees are called upon to take part in this week's nationwide work stoppages on Friday and Saturday.

Verdi has announced labor disputes in all federal states except Bavaria this week - on different days regionally.

The main strike day is Friday.

The regional collective bargaining rounds are about working conditions.

Verdi demands shorter working hours without financial losses, longer rest periods between individual shifts, more vacation days or more vacation pay.

Parallel to the warning strikes, Fridays For Future is organizing numerous demonstrations for more climate protection on March 1st (Friday).
