Highlights: Everything under one roof: The new BRK advice center is moving into the health center. Nine BRK employees now work on around 130 square meters. There is a reception area, a meeting room, a spacious kitchen and bright offices. The employees offer four services here: the home emergency call, the specialist center for caring relatives, outpatient care and housekeeping. The advice center can be reached within a short distance - a great advantage for the BRK's often older clients. “Especially since they can do everything in one go, on the way to the pharmacy or the doctor,” says Simon Horst.

Water damage left a doctor's office in the Miesbach health center vacant - making room for the new Bavarian Red Cross (BRK) advice center.

– The curtains are still missing, and one or two IT problems have not yet been solved.

Otherwise, everything is going smoothly in the BRK's new advice center in the health center on Schlierseer Straße.

“We see ourselves as service providers for people, and that is why we are very pleased that we are now present in the heart of the city,” says BRK managing director Simon Horst.

In a central location, the advice center can be reached within a short distance - a great advantage for the BRK's often older clients.

“Especially since they can do everything in one go, on the way to the pharmacy or the doctor,” says Horst.

That creates synergies.

Invited guests stand in front of him, including Josef Bierschneider and Elfie von Khreninger from the board of the BRK district association.

They came to celebrate the opening of the new advice center and to view the newly renovated rooms.

Nine BRK employees now work on around 130 square meters.

There is a reception area, a meeting room, a spacious kitchen and bright offices.

The employees offer four services here: the home emergency call, the specialist center for caring relatives, outpatient care and housekeeping - all services whose use usually requires prior advice or which are advisory anyway.

Previously, the four departments were housed in the BRK headquarters on Wendelsteinstrasse.

Not exactly a corner of Miesbach that is within walking distance for older people.

BRK driving service is expanding

Moving the departments has another advantage: “We finally have more space in the administrative headquarters,” says Horst.

There has been a lack of space there for a long time, not least because the BRK transport service is expanding.

It was chance that gave the BRK the opportunity to move its four departments: water damage had made a lengthy renovation necessary, which is why the neurological practice that had previously been in the premises looked for another location.

When the BRK heard that the rooms were for rent, they didn't hesitate - and decided to move in.

“The location in the medical center is perfect,” says Monika Bürger, head of the department for caring relatives.

She has already settled into the new rooms: “It still echoes a bit, but that changes as soon as the curtains are there.” bst
