From a sixteenth-century fort in the Venice lagoon, Sant'Andrea, to the former Casa del Fascio in Rome, in the Settecamini area, where the citizens who worked on land reclamation in Lazio were housed.

These are two of the disused sites that the State Property Office invites to be reinvented by nominating them for the international architecture and urban design competition ReinventingCities of C40, the network of mayors against the climate crisis.

The State Property Agency participates with four state-owned real estate complexes and with the support of the Municipality of Milan and the Municipality of Palermo for two municipally owned sites.

In addition to Forte Sant'Andrea and the former Casa del fascio, notices are being published for expressions of interest to redevelop the Casa Madonna di Nicopeja, also in Venice, a complex of over 1300 square meters with beaches partly accessible from the cycle path and a protected nature oasis, and the former Perotti barracks in Bologna, 58,000 square meters where, according to Mayor Matteo's anticipations, homes for workers and student accommodation will be built.

Furthermore, the State Property Planning Structure supports the Municipality of Milan for the candidacy of the former school in Via Zama for social housing projects and the Municipality of Palermo for the candidacy of the former Chimica Arenella.

This unique site is described by the State Property Office as a "peculiar and significant example of historical industrial architecture", dating back to the beginning of the twentieth century, overlooking one of the clearest stretches of the Sicilian sea, among historic seaside villages.

You have until July 11 to present design concepts for state-owned assets.

In a first phase, the best project proposals will be selected, followed by a second phase which will allow the assets to be assigned for concession, rental or sale.
