20 years after joining the Regional Council, Soru will sit on the benches of the Sardinian assembly.

However, this time it is not Renato, the former governor, but his daughter Camilla, 41 years old, among the young talents of the Democratic Party.

The two found themselves opposed in the race for the regional elections, after the founder of Tiscali abandoned the Democratic Party that he had helped to create and challenged Alessandra Torre, supported by the Dems, in the race for the regional elections.

Camilla, on the other hand, ran in support of the M5s exponent from the ranks of the Democratic Party, a family challenge won by the latter with 3,600 votes which opened the doors of the council to her.

His father Renato, however, who came third among the gubernatorial candidates, remains out.

Both have not spoken to each other since the start of the electoral campaign and neither of them wants to confirm that they have spoken today, because after all now they are only "family matters".

Now Camilla Soru, who comes from the city council of Cagliari, is ready for her new challenge and already has clear ideas: "Considering that the topic of healthcare is perhaps the most heartfelt one, the first topic I would like to deal with is medicine base and in the territories - he explains to ANSA - we need to redistribute adequate basic services in the internal areas and help doctors by making rooms available for clinics, secretariats, but above all we need to give the Sardinians the guarantee of local care again".

Camilla Soru will also go to replenish the group of women in the Council: "a good result but completely insufficient - she observes - I am in favor of double gender preference and I admire all the comrades who have decided to get involved".

Can we expect a female president of the regional council?

"It would be nice to imagine it, but you have to choose based on skills", she points out.

As well as "it would be nice to have a female candidacy for Cagliari (which will go to the vote this year, ed.)".

"I am leaving the city council and I see a suffering city that is worse off than 5 years ago, that is struggling a lot and that has not been able to plan: filled with construction sites due to the anxiety of getting things done before the elections", she attacks.

"Some choices were crazy, between children in tents and criminalized youth hardship, and then a constant tug of war with the Region and a prone municipality, put at the service of Roman politics."

Today Camilla Soru looks back at her electoral campaign among the people: It was tiring and exciting - she says - it seemed to me a bit like what we are missing, going beyond the old party vote and moving on to the opinion vote: doing well and be chosen". Finally, a piece of news on the controversy surrounding Anita Sirigu, a candidate indicated by the nickname Soru: Camilla had made herself heard and Anita herself,

included in the Action and +Europa lists with Soru, she had disavowed that name.

At the time of counting, Sirigu obtained 26 votes.
