Gustavo Melella assured that his province will submit to the measure of force dictated by Nacho Torres in his fight with the Nation. The governor's complaint about a debt of 13.5 billion pesos of co-participation unleashed a rebellion of leaders.

The governor of Tierra del Fuego, Gustavo Melella, confirmed today that his

province will paralyze oil production for 24 hours next Wednesday

, in agreement with the rest of the Patagonian states and in support of the claim of his counterpart from Chubut, Ignacio Torres, before the national government for the cut in co-participation funds.

"

It is oil production that we are going to paralyze for a day

. This is a decision made by all the governors of Patagonia, with the support of the workers in the oil sector. What we ask of the national government is that it feels urgent with the governor of Chubut to try to resolve the situation," Melella explained to Télam.

The president also maintained that the country is going through

"very hard and complex times"

and asked the Nation to "stop the ball because it is not a time for evildoers," he assured.

The head of the Fuegian Executive questioned the confrontational posture that President Javier Milei maintains with the provinces and the economic measures that affect the resources of each jurisdiction.

"The adjustment is going to those who have the least, to the workers, and not to the famous caste, that is a verse," he stated in dialogue with the local press.

Along these lines, he added that "those who voted for some and others wanted an Argentina of peace and not an Argentina of confrontation, chicanery or provocations, and today we live that," he emphasized.

For Melella, what is being done with Chubut is "putting a province in check by cutting funds", because "funds are not cut from a governor. The teaching incentive was not taken from Melella but from all teachers in Tierra of Fire," he insisted.

In response to the Chubut case, Melella said that Torres came to office "with all the desire to carry out his province with a plan for development and growth, but the withdrawal of funds puts him in check. How can he not react? We support him in that and All the governors support it," he declared.

In any case, he hoped that there will be "a path of dialogue and a solution between now and Wednesday and not paralyzing oil production, because Argentines need leaders with rationality."

"Fiscal issues must be reorganized, it is true. In the previous government many things were not good either and they had to be changed, but not with this brutal adjustment on the people," Melella concluded.

Meeting of Patagonian governors

The Patagonian governors Alberto Weretilneck (Río Negro), Rolando Figueroa (Neuquén), Sergio Ziliotto (La Pampa), Ignacio Torres (Chubut) and Gustavo Melella (Tierra del Fuego).

The Patagonian governors will offer a press conference this afternoon in the Senate of the Nation, given the threat led by Chubut to cut off the supply of gas and oil starting tomorrow due to the cut in co-participation funds.

The press conference is scheduled for 5 p.m. in the Blue room of the Senate of the Nation and they will accompany the national legislators of those same provinces, according to sources from the upper house and the governors.

In addition to the governor of Chubut, Ignacio Torres - who is leading the claim - there will be the leaders of Río Negro, Alberto Weretileck;

from Neuquén, Rolando Figueroa;

from Santa Cruz, Claudio Vidal and from La Pampa, Sergio Ziliotto.

For his part, the president of Tierra del Fuego, Gustavo Melella, has already warned that he will not attend because he has activities planned in his province.

Melella confirmed yesterday that his province will paralyze oil production for 24 hours next Wednesday, in agreement with the rest of the Patagonian states and in support of the claim of his counterpart from Chubut, before the national government for the cut of co-participation funds.
