After long weeks of scarcity, snow has been falling in abundance since Monday evening in the Pyrenees to the delight of holidaymakers in zone B. Due to a depression coming from Brittany and blocked by the Pyrenees, significant falls of snow are forecast until Wednesday, with a rain-snow limit established at 700 meters above sea level this Tuesday.
According to Météo Pyrénées, it will fall 15 to 20 cm at 1,000 m altitude, 40 to 50 cm at 1,600 m and 50 to 70 cm above 2,000 m in Haute-Garonne.

This Tuesday morning, the Peyragudes resort has already accumulated 30 centimeters of snow, covering the ski area.
“A few more snowflakes should fall for part of the day,” specifies Laurent Garcia, director of Peyragudes.
The access road to the station is clear.

Snowplows are working to reopen the resort as soon as possible thanks to the snowfall so awaited by professionals and skiers.
The secondary road leading to Mourtis being snow-covered, traffic conditions are difficult.
Same difficulty accessing the Superbagnères station where snow has been falling since Monday evening.
According to the Inforoute 31 website, traffic up to the Peyresourde, Mente and Portillon passes is difficult due to snow on the roads.
On the A64 motorway which leads to the ski resorts, Vinci Autoroutes reports “a light snowfall in the Capvern and Lannemezan sectors”.
By Wednesday, nearly a meter of fresh snow should fall above 1,800m on the Pyrenees where the wind is strong at altitude.
