A 23-year-old man from Andria in Puglia was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of posing as a priest and defrauding at least seven priests in Puglia, Abruzzo and Basilicata by getting them to give him money for fake charitable causes.
Vincenzo Pastore, was already facing prison time for similar alleged crimes, police said.
The man was caught after a priest in Canosa di Puglia reported him for bilking him out of money he had claimed he would give to a single mother.
