Three episodes of “Alone – Survive the Wilderness” have now been broadcast on RTL+ – and the participant Christian “Crii” Lindenthaler, who lives in Tölz, is doing very well so far.

On Thursday (February 29th) it's all about hunting.

Bad Tölz – As reported, “Alone” is an internationally successful TV format that is now also available in Germany.

Ten people are left alone in the wilderness at different locations - in this case on Vancouver Island in Canada - and have to survive there without contact with the outside world.

Christian “Crii” Lindenthaler is one of them.

Whoever manages it the longest wins 75,000 euros.

It was shot last October.

The participants had to film themselves.

One man and two women left in the first few days - that is, they called the security team and asked to be picked up.

The heavy rains had taken their toll on them.

The others also report on how much they struggled with the weather.

The only exception is Lindenthaler.

In his “shelter” – a self-built accommodation made of tarpaulins – everything has remained dry so far.

The Tölzer also managed to build a fire every day, he built a small wooden shelf and explained how to brush your teeth with hemlock branches.

“It has a great taste and has an antibacterial effect.”

Lindenthaler comes to terms with nature

In contrast to the other participants, it is striking that Lindenthaler does not see his “life” on Vancouver Island as a “fight against the elements,” but rather comes to terms with nature and, above all, appreciates it.

No wonder: the 43-year-old is a trained nature and wilderness educator.

On the first day he only set up a temporary camp, Lindenthaler tells our newspaper.

“Then I scouted the area to see where the most suitable place was.” In the first few days he walked a lot in the area assigned to him and analyzed animal tracks.

During this time, Lindenthaler observed a bear - as shown in the episodes - and found the skeleton of a young bald eagle.

He was allowed to collect bones and beaks.

The participants have strict requirements regarding what they are allowed to use or hunt.

Manicure in front of the camera

While other participants struggled with their emotions in the first three episodes, Lindenthaler remained very calm.

“I quickly felt at home in the bay where I was abandoned,” he reports.

“I really enjoyed the landscape.

The rain didn't bother me that much." In the third episode, the 43-year-old explains how to do manicures and pedicures in the tent.

When asked about this, he says with a smile: “When you're alone, routines are extremely important.

They provide stability throughout the day.”

The next episode, which can be seen in streaming format this Thursday, is about hunting.

Lindenthaler is not allowed to say anything about it in advance.

Just one thing, and that's important to him: "There were strict requirements about what could be hunted and what not."

The fourth episode of “Alone – Survive the Wilderness”

will be broadcast on Thursday, February 29th on the streaming service RTL+.

Another episode will be released every week until mid-April.
