Cementir Holding obtained validation of its short and long-term climate objectives from the Science Based Target initiative (SBTi) "which confirmed their consistency with the 1.5°C scenario of limiting global warming".
Furthermore, a note explains, "SBTi has approved Cementi's overall net zero emissions target by 2050".
"We are proud - comments the president and CEO Francesco Caltagirone Jr - that Cementir has joined the small group of companies whose decarbonisation objectives have been judged by SBTi to be consistent with the objective of limiting global warming to below 1.5 degrees.
This is further testimony to the virtuous path we have undertaken in recent years in terms of sustainability."
