The third issue of the Treasury's BTPValue bond aimed at ordinary savers had attracted a total of656,369 contracts for a combined value of 18.32 billion euros at closing on Friday, the economy ministry has said.
The figure exceeds both the 18.14 billion euro raised during the first issue last June and the 17.2 billion euro raised during the second issue in October.
The six-year bond gives interest of 3.25% a year in the first three years and 4% in the remaining three, with a premium of 0.7% for those who hold it to maturity, bringing the average annual yield up to 3.74%.
