Spain secured the bronze medal at the handball world championships in Egypt.
The European champions defeated record world champions France in the game for third place 35:29 (16:13).
The Spaniards had already won bronze at the World Cup in 2011.
Denmark and Sweden will play gold on Sunday evening (5.30 p.m.; TV: Eurosport).
Goalkeeper Rodrigo Corrales played a decisive role in the safe victory of the Spaniards with numerous saves.
The best thrower for the 2005 and 2013 world champions, who lost in the semifinals to defending champions Denmark (33:35), was Alex Dushebayev with eight goals.
For the six-time world champions France, however, the tournament ended in disappointment.
The French, who were defeated by Sweden (26:32) in their semi-finals on Friday, were quickly 4-0 behind and never found the connection.
Left winger Hugo Descant scored seven times.
France last won the title in 2017, at the last World Cup in 2019 there was at least bronze.
For Spain it is the first medal since winning the title at the 2013 home World Cup.
