Until about a decade ago, Bnei Herzliya was considered one of the leading teams in Israeli basketball.
Almost every season she reached the later stages of the Cup.
In recent years something has happened to the club from Sharon that struggled at the bottom and even relegated to the national league.
This season has been a turning point.
Zofi Abdia has been appointed professional manager, Oren Aharoni has been removed from the youth department of Maccabi Tel Aviv, where he has done an excellent job and has been appointed coach.
For the cup week, Herzliya came from first place in the table, by right and not by grace, and yesterday it put a final stamp on a great season when it defeated Hapoel Holon 63:83 and advanced to the state cup final for the first time since 2010, when it was called Bnei Hasharon.
Holon has a lot of experience in the staff.
Guy Pnini has won 11 trophies, Guy Goodes has stood on the lines in many positions, and the team has performed excellently in several deciding games this season.
All this was not enough for her in the face of the tremendous fitness of the Herzliya players, especially not in the face of Chinano Onoako who did whatever he pleased under the baskets.
In Holon, they came with complaints to the referees, who did exacerbate them excessively, but need to check their stuck and solo attacking game.
Joe Ragland excelled in both the points column and the assists column, but failed to propel his team’s offense.
Herzliya will get another day off and wait for tonight's game between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Hapoel Tel Aviv to know how to separate it from a first degree since 1995. On Thursday we would like to see more than 1,000 Herzliya fans.
Comes to the great team in blue supporting and encouraging glory.
Holon fans.
