Kahn talks about contract extension with Lewandowski - and confirms talks with Haaland advisor

Bayern CEO Oliver Kahn spoke before the game against Bayer Leverkusen about Robert Lewandowski's future and talks with Mino Raiola.

Munich – Before the top game in the Bundesliga on Saturday afternoon between FC Bayern Munich and Bayer 04 Leverkusen, the CEO of Munich, Oliver Kahn*, stood in front of the microphone on Sky and also spoke about the current squad planning for the German record champions.

Robert Lewandowski is certainly at the top of Munich's agenda.

The contract of the exceptional Polish striker expires in the summer of 2023.

Then he could leave Bayern* free of charge.

If you still want to collect a transfer fee for the two-time world footballer, you would probably have to sell the 33-year-old this summer.

However, sports director Hasan Salihamidzic announced last week that an extension with Lewandowski would be sought.

In the absence of Salihamidzic, Kahn also commented on the center forward before the game against Leverkusen.

Accordingly, there are no concrete contract talks with the 33-year-old.

"I've said it several times that we want to hold talks with many of our deserving players in the spring, including Robert, of course.

We are now going into a very crucial phase of the season, now every millimeter counts,” explained Kahn.

Contract talks are therefore currently only a subordinate priority.

"We now want to concentrate 100 percent on what's at stake: becoming German champions and we also have the second leg against Salzburg in mind.

Then we'll take a look," the CEO continued.

Kahn also confirmed reports that he had met with player advisor Mino Raiola.

“Yes, that's right, I was in Monaco.

But I was also in London this week, I travel a lot in Europe.

It's quite normal to meet with one or the other player advisor." Raiola's most sought-after client is certainly Dortmund's top striker Erling Haaland*, who is on the list of almost all top European clubs.

Raiola also represents Dutchman Ryan Gravenberch, who has recently been linked with Bayern.

However, the CEO did not want to comment on the content of the talks with Raiola and a possible interest on the part of Munich in Haaland.

“You will understand that I will not speak publicly about the content of these conversations.

(...) Haaland is a Borussia Dortmund player and is injured at the moment.

I've always emphasized that I don't like talking about players from other clubs," explained Kahn.

Bayern's squad planning for the coming season remains exciting.
