Thomas Tuchel is angry.

The origin of the wrath - and the disappointment - of the Chelsea coach did not come from his players - who put on a fine and serious performance on Saturday on the lawn of Burnley where they won (0-4) during the 28th day of the Premier League - but from his supporters.

The latter chanted the name of the Russian owner of the club, Roman Abramovich during the minute of applause in honor of the Ukrainian people.

“It was not the time to do that,” cursed the technician after the match.

“If we want to show our solidarity, we show our solidarity and we all do it together”.

While the Premier League had decided on a series of symbolic demonstrations in support of Ukraine, victim of a Russian invasion, during the 28th day which takes place this weekend, Chelsea supporters took advantage of the minute of applause before kick-off to chant Abramovich's name.

The Russian billionaire, who bought the club in 2003 before winning all the national and international titles, announced in the middle of the week the sale of the club for fear of being hit soon by financial sanctions which target many oligarchs - but not him yet - in the European Union and in Great Britain.

"It was not the moment to do this."

“When an important figure from our club or another club unfortunately dies, we pay tribute.

Now was not the time to give another message.

It was a moment to show respect (…) As a club, we needed our supporters to join in this minute of applause, ”added the former PSG coach who has never been a follower of the language of wood.

“We wanted to do it for Ukraine and there is no other opinion to be had on this situation.

Our thoughts and our support are with them and we must be united, ”lamented the German coach again.
