In a ZDF interview, Bayern player Joshua Kimmich announced in December that he wanted to be vaccinated after his corona infection.
According to the "Bild" newspaper, the national player kept his word and has now been immunized.
As a result, it became clear that Kimmich was vaccinated because he was able to present proof of 2G at a team evening at FC Bayern Munich in March.
Together with his recovered status, the simple vaccination is enough for 2G.
In autumn 2021, Kimmich announced that he was not vaccinated.
His rejection had sparked a debate in Germany.
In an interview with ZDF, he explained: "In general, it was just difficult for me to deal with my fears and concerns, that's why I was undecided for so long." His infection also played a role in the decision: "Maybe I had to live through what I have lived through.”
Health Minister Karl Lauterbach had previously even personally offered to vaccinate the football player.
