Eintracht Frankfurt got a good starting position in the semi-final first leg of the Europa League with a 2-1 (1-1) win at Premier League club West Ham United to reach the final in their own game next Thursday (9 p.m.; TV: RTL). make the stadium perfect.

"We want to show our Eintracht Frankfurt Europa League face," Glasner said before the game on RTL.

And indeed: the game hadn't gone on for a minute after that, when Ansgar Knauff (1st minute) put a damper on the euphoric atmosphere in London's Olympic Stadium when he headed a pass from Rafael Borré into the top left corner after 49 seconds.

It was the fastest goal in Europa League history.

The hosts then needed a while to shake off this early shock, in the first 15 minutes Eintracht launched one attack after the other, mainly via Knauff's right side.

The Londoners had the next big chance, however, when Bowen, after a quick combination through midfield, was only left with Kevin Trapp in front of him, who spread himself - and with a minimal touch was able to deflect the ball to the right post (15th).

A few minutes later, the game was now more open, Michail Antonio equalized after a free kick (21st).

Shortly before the break, Knauff got another chance to take the lead, but shot over the bar from almost ten meters (39').

After the restart, West Ham started as passively as at the beginning of the game, which was punished again: Alphonse Aréola was able to fend off a shot by Djibril Sow, but at the same time put the ball on for Daichi Kamada, who only had to push the ball over the line (54th).

The Londoners didn't find their way back into the game afterwards either, but were lucky that Kamada's second goal attempt was thwarted by the post (79th).

A late goal from defender Angeliño brought RB Leipzig a decisive step closer to the first European Cup final in the club's young history.

With a volley worth seeing to make it 1-0 (0-0), the Spaniard redeemed RB against Glasgow Rangers, who had successfully barricaded the goal for the third-placed Bundesliga player five minutes before the end of the game.

For long stretches, the underdog from Scotland was extremely low, the actual midfielder John Lundstram filled the back four almost continuously to form a back five.

Leipzig found it difficult to pick up the pace against the Rangers' defense.

RB recorded four shots in the first half, all four blocked by a Rangers player before danger arose.

The form of star attacker Christopher Nkunku was also not right: In the first half, a stick error cost the French a great chance (17th).

After the break, Nkunku was saved by a fist from goalkeeper Allan McGregor (53') and later shot over the goal from a reserve position when he had already rounded McGregor (70').

Then a corner kick brought the decision in favor of Leipzig: Calvin Bassey headed a cross from the penalty area, Angeliño took the ball directly at full risk and shot it into the goal before the ball touched the ground.

So RB on Thursday (9 p.m., Stream: RTL) in Glasgow’s Ibrox Park is enough to progress.

The Europa League final will be played in Seville on May 18th.
