Leipzig - It is the second semi-final in the club's history in a European competition that RB Leipzig will play this Thursday evening.

Several thousand fans of the Scottish opponents Glasgow Rangers Leipzig want to spoil the Euro party.

RB coach Domenico Tedesco therefore threatened an extremely loud and uncomfortable night.

“They told me at my hotel that they were expecting 200 Rangers fans there.

That's why I'll be sleeping in the academy for the next two days," said Tedesco before the semi-final first leg of the Europa League on Thursday (9 p.m.).

The club immediately denied the coach's departure as a joke - but the Glasgow Rangers will also be a tricky task for a well-rested Tedesco.

"The win against Dortmund really surprised me.

That showed that they can beat any opponent," said Tedesco, putting the Rangers in the Bergamo and Union Berlin categories.

The Leipzig run of 15 games ended without defeat against the capital club on Saturday.

“We will learn our lessons and do better.

Maybe the defeat came at the right time before crunch time.”

At the end there should be two trophies in the showcase.

They have already reached the final in the DFB Cup on May 21, and the runners-up would like to celebrate in Seville in the Europa League three days beforehand.

"We've already reached one final, now we want to get the second one," said Tedesco.

He has to rebuild his team in the first leg.

In defense chief Willi Orban, playmaker Kevin Kampl and defender Mohamed Simakan, three regular players are missing.

Rangers will be without their top attackers Kemar Roofe and Alfredo Morales.

Before the big task in Leipzig, the Scottish champions are not only encouraged by their progress against Dortmund.

That's good for Leipzig's economy," said Tedesco.

The Dutchman sees his team well prepared for Leipzig and hopes for the first European final since 2008: "The self-confidence is there." At that time, the Rangers lost the final against St. Petersburg.

To ensure that the Scots don't even reach the final this year, Tedesco got tips from his assistant coach Andreas Hinkel.

He played for archrival Celtic from 2008 to 2011.
