SV Adelshofen II would have liked to have postponed the game against Günzlhofen II from May 1st.
Because the VSST didn't play along, the game was curiously abandoned.
Adelshofen/Günzlhofen
– The schedule at the weekend offered an unusual picture.
Especially in the lowest leagues, Sunday was kept as free as possible of games.
Most kickers were at the maypole erection.
The players of SV Adelshofen II also wanted to spend the day like this.
But their opponent, the VSST Günzlhofen II, did not play along.
The result: a curious game crash.
Adelshofen's second prefers putting up the maypole
Because the kickers from Adelshofen's reserve, all of whom are also with the local boys' club, actually decided to put up the maypole for the first time in years and against the C-class kick.
In order not to risk a fine, the SVA still played - with seven players.
Including oldies like Konrad Schäfer (61), Klaus Trinkl (54) and Leo Högenauer (55).
"Together we were probably the same age as the eleven Günzlhofeners," says former SVA club boss Peter Schöberl.
The motley crew put up a brave fight.
However, after 20 minutes she was already 4-0 down against Günzlhofen, who were outnumbered four.
And then there was the “stupid ambition”, as Schöberl puts it.
Trinkl wanted to sprint, immediately felt a painful tugging in his leg and had to come down injured.
Adelshofen was only six - too few to continue the game according to the rules.
Referee Yalcin Kaya had no choice but to call off the game.
Günzlhofen cannot work during the week
In Adelshofen they are now angry because of Günzlhofen's refusal to move the game.
But that's not entirely true, says VSST President Mario Küpper.
The SVA was first offered to move to Saturday, but it would have refused.
Later, when Adelshofen would have wanted to dodge it, the VSST was already scheduled for the day.
Günzlhofen, in turn, had rejected Adelshofen's request to play the game during the week.
"We have a few players from Munich who can't do it during the week," said Küpper.
However, the VSST President admits: "It went silly."
Soccer department head Daniel Feustel also says: "Normally we agree to every game transfer." But the leaders of the C-Class is currently on the master course.
The team has the ambition to play in the B class next year.
"If it hadn't been about anything for us, we would have filled up with AH players during the week," says Feustel.
This leaves a stale aftertaste for Schöberl.
He understands that Günzlhofen is about promotion, but: "It's only C class." (Thomas Benedikt)
