Promotion game to the district league: Attaching's defense has the opponent Gaimersheim in the 2-0 victory under control.

Attaching

– BC Attaching made the hoped-for good start to the relegation duel with TSV Gaimersheim with a 2-0 home win on Wednesday.

The key to success lay above all in the strong defensive performance of the home side, which only allowed the opponent very few chances.

One of them could have turned the game differently.

Because after a nervous start, Denis Janjic's shot just missed the left post (24').

The warning shot finally freed the BCA from the initial nervousness, because the rest of the first half was only in the direction of the TSV goal.

Patrick Hujina could have taken the lead (25th), but didn't hit the ball fully.

Shortly thereafter, the hosts needed three attempts before the ball finally landed with Domenic Hörmann, who thoughtfully put it low into the long goal corner to take the lead 1-0 (29th).

Attaching could have done better before the break.

A counterattack after a Gaimersheim corner was played imprecisely and Maxi Tessner didn't hit the ball properly after a cross from Didier Nguelefack.

Chances for more goals

After the change of sides, the best attacks rolled towards the guest goal.

Manuel Thalhammer conquered the ball in midfield, passes to Nguelefack, who put it in the middle, where Thalhammer narrowly missed and Hujina aimed wide of the goal (49th).

Nguelefack also missed a top chance (52') when he was unable to control the header correctly after a precise cross from Tessner.

"We didn't make good use of our chances after the 1-0," complained BCA trainer Enes Mehmedovic.

But his team stayed on the trigger and stood securely at the back.

Keeper Hans Gamperl only had to intervene with a pike jump when his own defender returned the ball with his head.

The next big chance was missed by Hujina, whose volley went just wide of the left post.

Didier Nguelefack made a big appearance in the 78th minute.

He had three defenders on the left who didn't intervene vigorously enough, allowing the BCA striker to cross after three four dribbles into the middle.

Mathias Staudigl was spot on there and pushed the ball over the line to make it 2-0.

Opponent takes on the referee

Gaimersheim was noticed in the second half mainly by verbal slips against the referee and received half a dozen yellow cards and a straight red against Michael Angermüller (88th).

BCA keeper Gamperl only had to catch a free kick from the guests once (90') and get the ball out of the net once when Florian Ihring scored from offside.

Visiting coach Manfred Wagner-Kroll summed it up: “My team didn't work in their heads today, they were way too scared.

The Attachinger win was deserved.” BCA coach Mehmedovic saw it the same way: “The 2-0 win is okay, but we could have scored a goal or two.”
