Relegation to the Bavarian League: VfB Hallbergmoos wants to crown its race to catch up by staying up in the league.

Hallbergmoos

– Another 90 minutes of running, biting and fighting, and then VfB Hallbergmoos, who was initially ridiculed as a points provider in the Bayernliga, is the one who laughs last and loudest.

After the lucky 4:4 in the first leg, a draw with fewer goals or a win is needed in the home game (Saturday, 4 p.m.) against the state league club TSV Neudrossenfeld to secure a future in the Bayernliga.

Between the two games on Friday night there was only a better sweat training session, which was more about getting the players' heads ready for action again.

"We have learned our lesson," says coach Matthias Strohmaier.

He had to admit that the atmosphere was almost too good recently when the chunk of Fortuna Regensburg was eliminated after the sensational second half of the season.

But gigantic self-confidence was followed by arrogance.

Strohmaier no longer has to explain much to his protégés.

In the fourth relegation game within 14 days, the coach doesn't want to say too much about the physical condition because all the teams had the same program.

On Saturday, many of the 22 kickers will arrive on the very last groove.

One leaves as a Bavarian league team and one as a state league team.

Neudrossenfeld beckons a return to the fifth division (last in 2014/15), and for VfB staying after nine preliminary round points would be a second consecutive climb.

"We really need our fans again," says Strohmaier.

The supporters had already carried the team to the finish in the shaky victory over Deisenhofen, against Regensburg 850 spectators really made a splash.

Now against Neudrossenfeld, the final character should attract a few more guests.

"The fans have to help us and we'll set off the fireworks on the pitch," promises the coach.

Tactical variants

He does not refer the fireworks to the full offensive but to will, commitment, passion and fight to the power of three.

As against Regensburg, you want to win, but you can't run into the open knife.

"They have to come," says the coach.

Given the old European rule, Neudrossenfeld needs an away win because a 5-5 draw is more of a theoretical option.

Even a 4:4 with overtime and penalties is hard to imagine.

The VfB coach expects the guests to try to score an early goal that could put VfB under pressure.

Otherwise, it would be logical for the counter space to increase every minute in the second half when the opponent has to give up his compactness.

That's why it's important to be wide awake right from the start and to attack with your head.

At 0:0 or 1:

1 is all in the green.

And what happens after the last game?

"I don't care," says Strohmaier, "we still have a really tough 90 minutes and that's all that counts."

lineup

Spelled - Mömkes, Strohmaier, Giglberger - Kostorz, Beetz, Petschner, Mühlrath (Küttner), Sahin - Krause (Werner), Diranko.
