Now it's official.
Liverpool announced today (Tuesday) the signing of Darwin Nunes in a long-term contract and in a deal estimated at 100 million euros to be paid to Benfica Lisbon.
Nunez arrives at Anfield after two seasons in Portugal with Benfica, where he scored 48 goals in 85 appearances in all competitions.
In addition, the 22-year-old striker has also scored 11 goals for the Uruguayan national team to date, where he made his debut in October 2019.
"It's a pleasure to be here at Liverpool and I'm very happy to be a part of this great club," Nunez told the club's official website.
"I played against Liverpool and saw them in a lot of Champions League games, and that's my style of play. There are some great players here and I think it will suit my style of play. Like I said, I watched this move quite a bit and I hope I can give everything I have to help the team." .
